A world without color would
be a drab place indeed... Take this page for instance... All black
and white... Boring... But it's under construction so please bear
with us while we figure out how to set up our lighting equipment so that we can
take fabulous pictures of the colored gems we want to share with you...
In the mean time, we are pleased to offer our
clients access to a high quality selection of colored gems and precious stones
for private collection or use in a fine piece of jewelry by request...
Because colored gems of high quality are not easy to acquire, we ask that you
only inquire as to price and availability if you are serious about buying the
gem within the next month or two... Everything else should be directed to
us as "general chat... curious to know, but not ready to buy" so that
we won't stir up our suppliers too much...
So what kind of colored gems do we play with? Quality gems. Quality
gems of all types. The pitch black sapphire being offered to you by your
local jeweler as a "fine quality Australian midnight blue" for $200.00
is not what we have in mind at all... And to be honest, we're not
interested in sourcing it because we'd be embarrassed to put our name on such a
stone... Look at our Private Reserve of
diamonds and you'll get an idea of our standards for selection... Our idea
of a "sapphire" is more along the lines of Kashmir or Electric
Blue... Take for instance the 7mm round, 1.62 carat Rich Open Blue sapphire that we
recently sourced from Kanchanaburi Thailand...
It's a stunningly rare beauty that sold for $3,260.00 via credit card and was
discounted to $3,150.00 for payment via wire transfer. We know what you're
thinking... "$3K for a sapphire?!?!" Yup. And if you
actually saw it, you would know why and you'd be thanking us for finding it
(assuming you're into blue)... This isn't your dark black, can't see through it,
commercial drek... This is a sparkly, full of life, attention grabbing,
beauty that will remind her of your moonlit stroll at midnight under the moon
set against a midnight blue sky... We set it in a 3 stone ring with a couple 0.40 carat, G color, VS
clarity ideal cut diamonds as accents and it sets the night on fire!
Here are a few examples of the puppies we've played with recently... These
gems are no longer in our possession, but we should be able to find something
comparable if you're interested...

| *** Please note: it is assumed that all colored gems have been treated and/or enhanced to improve their appearance by one or more methods including but not limited to heating, irradiation, laser drilling, oiling, fracture filling, etc. these treatments are considered to be "standard industry practice" and should be expected. The other dealers might not tell you about treatments for colored gems because they are afraid of your reaction, but the reality is that the majority of colored gems in the market have been treated in some way. "Natural" colored gems with GIA lab reports are available for substantially higher prices, but frankly we don't see the point since most of our clients play with color "just for fun" and as a coordinated accessory to some of their outfits... "I need something yellow to go with this dress I bought" is something we are used to hearing... | ||||||
Let us know if you're on the hunt for something unusual... Many of
our clients collect colored gems just because they like to see all the pretty
colors and can no longer play with hallucinogens... We tend to play with
suppliers who carry the unusual and hard to find... For instance, one of
our friends recently send us over pictures of a Canary Colored Tourmaline that
he picked up in Malawi that was simply to die for but he had sold it on the
plane before he could send it to us... We also have Chatham Laboratory
Created Gems available for those who want something "real" without paying the
price for pulling it out of the ground, they're "real" they were just grown in a
laboratory instead of in the ground similar to how roses can be grown in hot
houses.
Email us for quotes on other
beauties... We source everything from colored gems to pearls...
Please specify the millimeter size, shape and preferred intensity of color so
that we may be accurate in our search.
